When Harvey Weinstein was on trial, TBWA\Chiat\Day New York got a call from the Brooklyn Film Festival asking us to make a manifesto video about the importance of creating spaces for marginalized voices. We thought the situation called for something more artful than a manifesto, so we made a short film.

The film, called β€œThe Gathering”, was inspired by famous actresses’ allegations against Weinstein and other Hollywood gatekeepers. We kept the story abstract, but the film was full of references to reported facts, and Ashley Judd, one of Harvey’s most famous accusers, provided the final VO.

Check out the case study to get the full breakdown of the easter eggs and secret hidden references we dropped through the film.

β€œThe Gathering” premiered at the Brooklyn Film Festical and played before more than 100 screenings to an audience of over 36,000 festival attendees. And when BFF released it online, Ashley Judd was the first to share it with her followers.
