“That ‘Animal Whisperer’ Ad” was part of a Nationwide campaign I wrote. The brief was to advertise their lesser-known products using NASCAR driver Dale Jr.

Dale's a quirky dude: He lives on a paintball course, owns four pet buffalo and is really into Ebay. So, inspired by Dale’s quirky sides and the famous tagline “Nationwide is on your side”, my partner and I created The Many Sides of Dale.

Our very dumb campaign went viral. Dale’s huge fan base loved it, and random fan art inspired by our ads – like these t-shirts – started popping up online. The shirts earned mostly positive reviews on Amazon, except for one verified purchaser named Debbie who gave her Water Cooler Dale shirt one star and called it "a lint catcher."
